Marketing podcasts have become a leading platform for professional development. Here are a few that make me smarter just about every episode (and make my commute a lot more tolerable).
If you find yourself mired in healthcare myopia and curious about how marketing leaders in retail, technology and other segments are building their brands and acquiring customers, here are five podcasts (in no particular order) that won’t disappoint.
Why you should listen: Hear from top entrepreneurs about how much they sold last month, how they are selling it and what they are selling—all in rapid-fire, 20-minute interviews. The podcast provides a crash course in financial metrics like customer acquisition costs (CAC), churn rate and other key performance indicators.

Why you should listen: Get 10 minutes of actionable marketing advice every single day, especially in regard to digital marketing tips and trends.

Why you should listen: The best-selling author known for The 4‑Hour Workweek deconstructs world-class performers from eclectic areas (investing, chess, pro sports, etc.), digging deep to find the tools, tactics and tricks that listeners can use. Warning: Some episodes feature salty language.

Why you should listen: Covering both traditional and new marketing strategies, this weekly discussion is hosted by John Wall and Christopher Penn. Each show is about 20 minutes long and is filled with the kinds of marketing tips and tricks you can only get from casual conversation outside of the office.

Why you should listen: Brought to you by marketing software giant Hubspot and formerly known as The Growth Show, this is a podcast about the companies that nearly shuttered their doors, but instead … they launched an epic turnaround.
